Today marks the last time I’ll punch in as executive director of the San Francisco Brewers Guild. On April 13th, 2015, I’ll be joining the team at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers as their Public Relations and Media Director.
I spent nearly three years with the San Francisco Brewers Guild. It was my first job in the beer industry and I still can’t believe I was given the opportunity. I learned a lot, and beyond taking the organization to the next level, my goal was to acquire knowledge and experience, to see if the beer industry was a career path I wanted to pursue instead of art.
I achieved that latter goal. In fact, I went one step further. I honed in on exactly what I enjoy doing in the beer industry. It’s not organizing big events or a community of brewers. I want to compose a brand narrative with stories and photos, develop marketing strategies, engage fans, the media, and most importantly, be creative. That’s what’s in my blood. My role at Speakeasy fills this need, and I’m also looking forward to being part of a team with mutual goals that is poised to grow dramatically in the coming years. It should be fun and challenging.
Thank you San Francisco Brewers Guild. I will be forever grateful.
